The table shows the gametes of two parents along the top and side. Using it, what fraction of the offspring are expected to be homozygous recessive (tt)?

Answer Details

The grid shows one parent giving gametes T and t and the other giving T and t, so this is Tt \(\times\) Tt. The four boxes are TT, Tt, Tt and tt. The homozygous recessive (tt) box is one of the four, so the fraction that is tt is \(\tfrac{1}{4}\). One half would be the heterozygous (Tt) fraction, and 'none' would apply only if at least one parent could not donate a recessive allele, which both can here.
