Answer Details

Answer:

Physical well-being relates to the body functioning properly and being free from illness or injury. [1] For example, regular training improves cardiovascular fitness, meaning the heart pumps blood more efficiently and the performer is less likely to suffer from heart disease. [1]

Social well-being relates to having positive relationships with others and feeling a sense of belonging within a community. [1] For example, joining a team sport such as football helps a performer build friendships, develop cooperation skills and feel part of a group, all of which contribute to social well-being. [1]

The key distinction is that physical well-being concerns the body's health and fitness, while social well-being concerns relationships and connectedness with others. Sport and physical activity can benefit both simultaneously.
