Question 1 Report

Identify the type of movement allowed at a hinge joint. [1]

Answer Details

A hinge joint allows flexion and extension. [1] These are movements in one plane only: flexion decreases the angle at the joint (bending), while extension increases the angle (straightening). Examples of hinge joints include the knee and the elbow. Either flexion or extension alone is sufficient for the mark.
