What is the term for colours next to each other on the colour wheel?

Colours that sit next to each other on the colour wheel are called analogous colours. An analogous colour scheme typically consists of three to five adjacent hues, such as yellow, yellow-green, and green, or red, red-orange, and orange. Because these colours share a common base hue, they blend smoothly and create harmonious, unified compositions.

Complementary colours are pairs that sit directly opposite each other on the colour wheel (for example, red and green). Split complementary uses one colour and the two colours adjacent to its complement. Triadic colours are three colours equally spaced around the colour wheel, forming a triangle. None of these describes colours that are simply next to each other.
