Question 1 Report

The book of Revelation was written by ______ on the _______.
Answer Details
The book of Revelation was written by John the beloved, while he was exiled on the island of Patmos. The author identifies himself as John in the opening of the book, and early Christian tradition associates the authorship with John the beloved, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus. Patmos was a small island in the Aegean Sea, and tradition holds that John was exiled there during the Roman persecution of Christians in the late first century. While on the island, he received a series of visions which he recorded in the book of Revelation, also known as the Apocalypse. The book of Revelation is the final book of the New Testament and is filled with rich symbolism and vivid imagery, and is seen as a prophetic message of hope and encouragement to Christians facing persecution.
