Jesus compared or likened the faith we need to do the impossible to a mustard seed. Why did he use the mustard seed?

Jesus used the mustard seed as an illustration of the kind of faith we need to do the impossible. The mustard seed was one of the smallest seeds that people grew in their gardens, but when it was planted, it grew into a large plant with big branches where birds could nest. Jesus was telling his listeners that just like the mustard seed, we only need a small spark of faith to do things that seem too great to achieve. With faith, we can overcome obstacles and achieve things that we never thought were possible. He was emphasizing that faith is powerful and can bring about great results, even if it starts small.
