This question tests reading a rainfall measurement from a vertical gauge scale and then adding it to a previous day's reading.
- The gauge is marked every \(1\) cm with minor ticks every \(0.2\) cm. The water level sits three minor ticks below the \(3\) cm mark, so the rainfall shown is \(2.9\) cm [1 mark].
- Adding the previous day's rainfall gives the two-day total: \(2.9 + 1.65 = 4.55\) cm [2 marks].
