Decimals
Overview
Decimals are the language of measurement. Every time you read a digital scale, compare prices or record a scientific result, you rely on decimal notation to express values that fall between whole numbers. Mastery of decimals feeds directly into percentages, standard form and calculator work across both Edexcel papers.
You will learn to read, write and order decimals, convert fluently between decimals, fractions and percentages, and understand why every terminating decimal can be written as a fraction. Higher tier students will also discover how to tame recurring decimals using algebra.
