The major lesson Nigerians can learn from the story is that greed and related vices can cause serious breach of the law. The story of Chief Bilisi, a prominent politician and minister in Kantogo Republic, shows how his greed and thirst for power led him to sponsor candidates who were loyal to him in exchange for contracts and financial benefits. This, in turn, resulted in the non-provision of social amenities for the community. When the community had had enough, they gathered in front of his house to protest, which eventually led to the vandalization of properties and obstruction of vehicular movement. Therefore, the story emphasizes the negative consequences of greed and related vices on the society and the importance of leaders prioritizing the well-being of their constituents over personal gain.
