The features associated with the lower course of a river are floodplains, ox-bow lakes, and deltas.
Floodplains are flat, low-lying areas on either side of the river channel that are covered with water during floods. Ox-bow lakes are formed when the river erodes the outer banks of a meander, and the river takes a new course, leaving a crescent-shaped lake. Deltas are formed at the mouth of the river where the river meets the sea. The river deposits its sediment, and the build-up of sediment creates a fan-shaped landform.
