Answer Details
According to Jeremiah, the main feature of the Covenant between God and Israel was that it was to be written in the hearts of the people. This meant that the people would internalize the Covenant and have a personal relationship with God, rather than just following the law externally. It emphasized the importance of faith and obedience to God from the heart, rather than just following religious rituals and traditions. This new covenant was to replace the old covenant, which had been broken by the people's disobedience and lack of faith.
