The book of hadith that contains reports on the practices of the people of Madinah apart from hadith is the Muwatta Malik. This book is a collection of hadiths and athar, which are reports on the actions and sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and his companions. It is considered one of the earliest and most authentic collections of hadiths. However, the Muwatta Malik is not limited to hadiths alone. It also includes reports on the practices and customs of the people of Madinah during the time of the Prophet. These reports give insight into the social and cultural context of the early Islamic community and provide a deeper understanding of the way of life of the Prophet and his companions. In addition to hadiths and athar, the Muwatta Malik also contains opinions and rulings of Malik ibn Anas, a prominent jurist of the time.
