Which angel brought revelations to Prophet Muhammad (SAW)?

The angel who brought revelations to Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is Jibril (Gabriel, AS). Jibril is the most prominent of all angels in Islamic belief and holds the title Ruh al-Qudus (the Holy Spirit) and Ruh al-Amin (the Trustworthy Spirit). His primary role is to serve as the intermediary between Allah and His prophets, delivering divine revelation (wahy).

The Qur'an confirms Jibril's role explicitly in Surah Ash-Shu'ara (26:193-194): "The Trustworthy Spirit (Ruh al-Amin) has brought it down upon your heart, that you may be of the warners." Surah Al-Baqarah (2:97) further states: "Say, whoever is an enemy to Jibril - it is he who has brought the Qur'an down upon your heart by permission of Allah."

The other angels serve different functions: Malik is the guardian angel of Hellfire (Jahannam), mentioned by name in Surah Az-Zukhruf (43:77). Israfil is tasked with blowing the trumpet to announce the Day of Judgement. Mikail (Michael) is responsible for overseeing provisions and natural phenomena such as rain and vegetation.
