The Prophet who received the Torah (Tawrat) was Musa (Moses, AS). This is established in the Qur'an in multiple verses. In Surah Al-Ma'idah (5:44), Allah states: "Indeed, We sent down the Torah, in which was guidance and light." Surah Al-Isra (17:2) also confirms: "And We gave Musa the Scripture and made it a guidance for the Children of Israel."
The Torah was the divine scripture revealed to Musa for the guidance of the Bani Isra'il (Children of Israel). It contained laws, commandments, and moral teachings that formed the religious and legal foundation for the Israelite community.
In Islamic belief, there are four major revealed scriptures, each given to a specific prophet:
The Tawrat (Torah) was given to Musa (AS)
The Zabur (Psalms) was given to Dawud (AS)
The Injil (Gospel) was given to Isa (AS)
The Qur'an was given to Muhammad (SAW)
Ibrahim (AS), while one of the greatest prophets, received Suhuf (scrolls/scriptures) rather than one of the four major books.
