The table below shows beach-profile measurements collected at the same location before and after a spring storm. Fig. 1 shows how the team stretched a tape from a fixed peg on the promenade to the sea. They measured vertical height at 5 m intervals. The council will use the results to decide whether more sand should be added before the tourist season.
