A civil-defence team mapped evacuation points in Wellington, New Zealand, after a series of offshore earthquake warnings. Fig. 1 shows a plan view of streets from the waterfront to a hilltop assembly area. The route crosses a bridge and passes a school. The map is intended for people who may need to leave quickly after strong shaking or a tsunami alert.
