A weather station beside a hot desert settlement in northern Kenya monitored rainfall and air temperature for one year. Fig. 1 is a line-art diagram of the station, showing the rain gauge and shaded thermometer screen. Table 1 gives selected monthly results from the study. The river near the settlement usually has no water.
