Fig. 1 shows a camera used to photograph a solar-powered racing car at a school event. The camera has a convex lens, an adjustable aperture and a sensor. A student moves the camera nearer to the racing car so that it fills more of the viewfinder. The student must refocus before taking the photograph. The diagram shows light from the car entering the lens and reaching the sensor at the back of the camera. The sensor performs a similar role to a structure in the human eye.
(a) Name the structure in the eye with a role like the sensor. [1]

(c) Explain what must happen to the focal length of the camera lens when the car is moved nearer. [2]
