From the insect's perspective, the major reason it visits a flower is to suck the nectar. Nectar is a sugary liquid secreted by glands called nectaries at the base of the petals. It serves as a high-energy food reward that attracts insects (and other pollinators). The flower's bright colour, scent, and nectar guides all exist to draw insects toward this reward.
Pollination - the transfer of pollen from the anther to the stigma - is an incidental consequence of the insect's visit, not the insect's intention. As the insect reaches into the flower to feed on nectar, pollen grains stick to its body and are carried to the next flower it visits. So while pollination is the ecological outcome, it is not what motivates the insect.
"To fertilize the flower" is incorrect because fertilization (the fusion of male and female gametes) is an internal process that occurs after pollination; insects play no direct role in it. "To feed on the flower" is too vague - most pollinating insects do not consume the flower's petals or structures; they specifically seek out nectar (and sometimes pollen as a protein source).
