Which of the following is the feature performed until recently, by local government in Nigeria?

The feature that until recently was performed by local government in Nigeria is the registration of births. Local governments in Nigeria were responsible for registering births, deaths, and marriages within their jurisdiction. This was done to keep a record of the population and to provide data for planning and policy-making purposes. However, in recent times, the responsibility for registering births has been transferred to the National Population Commission (NPC) which is a federal government agency.
