Provision of a market for agricultural raw materials: Agro-based industries (food processing, textiles, breweries) buy farm produce, giving farmers a steady, profitable outlet that encourages them to produce more.
Processing and reduction of wastage: Processing and storage industries (canning, milling, refrigeration) preserve produce, reduce post-harvest losses and add value, raising farmers' incomes.
