Question 1 Report
The corner shop has a sale on tins of paint. The diagram shows a price scale used in the shop window, with an arrow marking the new sale price of one tin, reduced from the original price of £9.00.
On a price scale marked at intervals of 2 units, the arrow's position gives the current price; a price reduction is the original price minus the sale price, and it can be expressed as a decimal fraction of the original by dividing.
Work out the value of one small scale division before reading the arrow's position; here each small mark is worth £1, since the gap from 0 to 2 is split into two divisions.
