(b) The value 128 mmHg is the pressure when the ventricles contract, called systolic pressure. The value 82 mmHg is the pressure when the ventricles relax, called diastolic pressure. [2]
(c) Suitable lifestyle changes include reducing salt intake and exercising regularly. Maintaining or reaching a healthy body mass, stopping smoking, and reducing alcohol intake are also acceptable. Any two gain credit. [2]
(d) With high blood pressure, the heart has to pump blood against greater pressure or resistance, so it works harder. [1]
