Answer Details
An aquifer is a type of rock layer that is permeable and can hold water. Water is able to flow through the small spaces and cracks within the rock, and this makes the aquifer an important source of groundwater. The permeability of the rock allows water to be stored within the aquifer, and this water can be accessed through wells for human use.
