The vegetation of the warm Temperate Eastern Margin climate (also known as the China type or humid subtropical climate) is characterised by mixed coniferous and broad-leaved evergreen forests.

This climate type is found on the eastern sides of continents between approximately 25 and 40 degrees latitude, including southeastern China, southern Japan, southeastern United States, southeastern Brazil, and eastern Australia. It receives adequate rainfall throughout the year (with a summer maximum) and has warm summers and mild winters.

The natural vegetation reflects these conditions: broad-leaved evergreen trees (such as laurels, magnolias, and camphor trees) thrive in the warm, moist environment, while coniferous trees (such as pines and cypresses) are also present, especially at slightly higher elevations or in areas with cooler winters. The result is a mixed forest of both types.

Evergreen shrubs and thickets are more typical of the Mediterranean (warm Temperate Western Margin) climate. Mixed deciduous and coniferous forests characterise the cool Temperate Continental climate. Mixed tropical rainforests and monsoonal forests belong to equatorial and tropical monsoon zones, not the warm temperate margin.
