(a) The angle used for the receding axes in an isometric drawing is 30 degrees to the horizontal [1]. Both receding axes are drawn at this angle, one going to the left and one to the right, while the vertical axis remains vertical. This creates the characteristic appearance where all three axes are equally spaced at 120 degrees from each other.

(b) The type of line labelled A is a hidden detail line (dashed line) [1]. It is drawn as a series of short dashes and represents an edge or feature of the component that exists but cannot be seen from the viewing angle because it is behind or inside solid material.

(c) One other type of pictorial drawing that could be used to show this component is oblique drawing [1].
