Question 1 Report
Blood entering a kidney through the renal artery differs from blood leaving in the renal vein mainly because the leaving blood contains less of which substance?
Blood flows through the kidney so that waste can be filtered out and removed as urine. The kidney's job is to strip urea, the toxic nitrogen waste, out of the blood, so blood in the renal vein contains far less urea than blood arriving in the renal artery. Oxygen and glucose are not the kidney's target wastes, and carbon dioxide is removed by the lungs, not the kidney.
