The Four Operations
Overview
Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division are the four operations every other piece of mathematics is built on. The skill that matters at IGCSE is not just doing each one, but doing them in the right order and handling negatives, fractions and decimals without slips.
In this lesson you will work through the order of operations (BIDMAS), calculate confidently with negative numbers, and add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions and decimals. Getting these foundations automatic frees up your attention for the harder ideas later in the course.
