Ratio And Proportion
Overview
From mixing paint colours to sharing prize money, ratios describe how quantities compare to each other. Proportion extends that idea to situations where one quantity scales up or down in step with another. Together, they form a topic that appears across almost every Edexcel paper.
You will learn to simplify ratios, divide quantities in a given ratio, recognise direct proportion and solve a wide range of word problems, all while building the algebraic reasoning that connects ratio work to fractions and percentages.
