Sequences And Nth Term
Overview
A sequence is a list of numbers that follows a rule. Spot the rule and you can predict any term you like, even the hundredth, without writing out all the ones before it. The nth-term formula is the compact piece of algebra that captures that rule and unlocks the whole pattern.
In this lesson you will continue sequences, recognize their patterns, and find the nth term of linear sequences and simple quadratic sequences. The nth term is a powerful shortcut: one formula generates every term and answers any question about the sequence at once.
