Pronunciation, Intonation And Fluency
Overview
You do not need a perfect accent to score well in the speaking test. What you need is to be understood easily and to sound like someone genuinely talking, not reciting. Clear sounds, a steady pace, and a voice that rises and falls with your meaning carry a listener along. The single most common myth is that fast equals fluent, when in fact rushing usually blurs your words and gives you no room to think.
This note shows you how to speak so a listener follows you without effort: shaping word and sentence stress, using intonation to signal a question, an opinion or a contrast, and keeping a comfortable flow with short, natural pauses rather than long stalls. None of this is about an accent. It is about clarity, expression and rhythm, the three things that let everything else you say actually land.
