Symmetry
Overview
Symmetry is one of the most visual ideas in mathematics. Butterflies, snowflakes and company logos all use symmetry to create balance, and recognising the type and degree of symmetry in a shape is a key geometry skill.
This topic covers two kinds of symmetry: line symmetry (reflective) and rotational symmetry. You will learn to identify both in common 2D shapes and apply this knowledge to exam questions.
