Surface Area And Volume Of Prisms And Spheres

Overview

Surface area is the total area of all the faces of a solid; volume is the space it fills. Prisms, cylinders, spheres, pyramids and cones each have their own formulas, and they unlock real questions about capacity, material and packaging.

In this lesson you will calculate the surface area and volume of prisms (including the cuboid and cylinder), spheres, pyramids and cones, using the standard formulas with care over units.

Objectives

  1. Calculate the surface area and volume of prisms (including the cuboid and cylinder), spheres, pyramids and cones.
