Rates
Overview
A rate compares two different quantities, such as distance and time, or cost and weight. The most important rate at IGCSE is speed, but the same idea covers price per kilogram, flow per minute and many more. Rates turn raw figures into something you can compare and use.
In this lesson you will use common measures of rate, apply them to less familiar situations, and solve problems involving average speed, including the key relationship between speed, distance and time.
