What effect did the sudden death of Ananias and Sapphira have on the early disciples?
Answer Details
The sudden death of Ananias and Sapphira had a great effect of fear on the early disciples. This is because they witnessed the consequences of lying to the Holy Spirit, as Ananias and Sapphira had done by withholding some of the proceeds from the sale of their land while pretending to donate the entire amount. Apostle Peter, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, rebuked them and they both died immediately. This event served as a warning to the other disciples to take their faith seriously and not to deceive or lie to the Holy Spirit, leading to a great fear among them.
