The battle that served as a pointer to the compilation of the Glorious Qur’an was the Battle of Yamāmah. This was a significant battle fought during the period of the first caliph, Abu Bakr, against the false prophet Musaylimah, who claimed prophethood after the demise of Prophet Muhammad. Many companions who had memorized the Qur'an were martyred in this battle, leading to the fear that the Qur'an might be lost forever. Therefore, the Caliph Abu Bakr took steps to collect and compile the Qur'an into a written text, which became the basis for the standardized text of the Qur'an we have today.
