(a) Five factors that contribute to the development of tourism in Nigeria:

• Attractive natural features: waterfalls, hills and highlands (Assop Falls, Obudu Ranch, Jos Plateau), beaches (Bar Beach, Badagry), and warm sunny climate attract visitors.
• Wildlife and game reserves: national parks such as Yankari and Kainji Lake attract tourists interested in wildlife and safari.
• Rich cultural heritage and festivals: the Argungu fishing festival, Osun-Osogbo, Durbar, Eyo and other festivals, plus historic sites and museums, draw tourists.
• Good transport and communication: airports, roads and improved communication make tourist centres accessible.
• Availability of accommodation and government support: hotels, and government provision of infrastructure and promotion through tourism boards, encourage the industry (peace and security are also essential).
