Answer Details
When a person comes late to congregational Salah (prayer), they should make takbiratul ihram and then join the Imam (the leader of the prayer). Takbiratul ihram is the act of saying "Allahu Akbar" (God is the greatest) which signifies the start of the prayer. The person should then try to catch up with the rest of the congregation and continue the prayer with the Imam.
