In the Bible, the night before his crucifixion, Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane and said, "My father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me." He was expressing his human emotions and his desire to avoid the immense physical and emotional pain that he knew he would have to endure. However, he ultimately submitted to God's will and chose to go through with his crucifixion in order to redeem humanity.
