After their mission, Jesus enjoined the seventy disciples to rejoice because they had seen Satan fall like lightning from heaven. This is recorded in Luke 10:17-20 where Jesus rejoiced with them because they had successfully exercised authority over demons, and they returned with the good news of many people being healed and saved. Jesus then said, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
