Moses was nursed by his own mother. According to the biblical account in the book of Exodus, when Pharaoh ordered all Hebrew baby boys to be killed, Moses' mother put him in a basket and placed him in the Nile River, where he was found by Pharaoh's daughter. Moses' sister then suggested that she could find a Hebrew woman to nurse the baby, and Pharaoh's daughter agreed. The sister then brought Moses' own mother to nurse him, and Pharaoh's daughter paid her to do so.
