Question 1 Report

Which of the following is a feature commonly found in the youthful stage of a river?
Answer Details
The youthful stage of a river is characterized by its erosive activity and its attempt to establish its course. As a result, one feature commonly found in this stage is interlocking spurs. These are ridges of land that project into the river valley and are gradually eroded away as the river flows. Interlocking spurs are formed because the river is not yet powerful enough to cut through them, so it has to wind its way around them, creating a zigzag pattern.
