What miracle did Elisha perform for the Shunammite woman's son?

In 2 Kings 4:18-37, the Shunammite woman's son grew ill and died. She travelled to Mount Carmel to find the prophet Elisha and urged him to come to her house. Elisha first sent his servant Gehazi ahead with his staff to lay on the child's face, but this did not revive the boy. When Elisha arrived, he went into the room, shut the door, and prayed to God. He then lay upon the child, placing his mouth on the child's mouth, his eyes on his eyes, and his hands on his hands. The child's body grew warm, and after Elisha stretched himself upon the child a second time, the boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes.

This miracle of raising the dead demonstrated God's power working through the prophet Elisha and parallels the earlier miracle performed by his mentor Elijah, who raised the widow of Zarephath's son (1 Kings 17:17-24).

The other options are not supported by the biblical text. There is no account of Elisha curing a fever, giving sight, or healing blindness in connection with the Shunammite woman's son. The boy had died, and Elisha restored him to life.
