How baptised the Ethiopian eunuch?

The baptism of the Ethiopian eunuch is recorded in Acts 8:26-40. Philip, one of the seven deacons of the early church, was directed by an angel to travel along the road from Jerusalem to Gaza. There he encountered an Ethiopian eunuch, a high official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was sitting in his chariot reading the prophet Isaiah.

Philip approached the chariot and heard the eunuch reading Isaiah 53. The eunuch asked Philip to explain the passage, and Philip used it as a starting point to tell him the good news about Jesus. As they travelled along the road and came to some water, the eunuch said, "Look, here is water. What is to prevent me from being baptised?" Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and Philip baptised him (Acts 8:38).

Peter, John, and Paul were all prominent figures in the early church, but none of them is connected to this event. The passage clearly identifies Philip as the person who both evangelised and baptised the Ethiopian eunuch.
