Answer Details
The endocrine gland secreting hormone that induces the thyroid gland to produce more thyroxine is the pituitary gland. The pituitary gland produces thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) which stimulates the thyroid gland to produce more thyroxine, a hormone that is important for regulating metabolism in the body. When there is a decrease in the level of thyroxine in the blood, the pituitary gland releases TSH which acts on the thyroid gland to increase the production of thyroxine. This process helps to maintain the level of thyroxine in the blood within a normal range.
