Question 1 Report

The implementation of indirect rule was supervised by the __________

Answer Details
The implementation of indirect rule was supervised by British officials. Indirect rule was a system of colonial administration used by the British in some of their African colonies, in which local traditional rulers (chiefs and councils of elders) were appointed as intermediaries between the colonial government and the local population. However, these traditional rulers were supervised and controlled by British officials, who held ultimate authority and made all major decisions. The British officials trained and worked closely with the local rulers, but they ultimately held the power to veto or overrule any decisions made by them. This system was used to maintain colonial control while minimizing the cost and difficulty of direct rule.
