Test of Practical Knowledge: preparing the students' scores table in a spreadsheet
(b)(i) Insert a new "Name" column between the first and second columns
Right-click the header of the current second column and choose Insert. A blank column appears; type the heading Name in its top cell.
(b)(ii) Insert a title above the table
Right-click the first row and choose Insert to add a blank row above the table. Select the cells that span the full width of the table, click Merge & Center, and type Students' Scores in Computer Studies.
(c) Enter the six names
From the first cell under the "Name" heading downwards, type the names in order: Adedigba Eze, Balango Ngozi, Agbelero Cynthia, Okeowo Sulkite, Okonia Ifedola, Umaru Edonk.
(d)(i) Weighted score for each student
The weighted score gives 20% to the first term, 30% to the second term and 50% to the third term. If the first-, second- and third-term raw scores for the first student are in cells C3, D3 and E3, click the W/score cell for that student and type:
\[ \text{=(C3*20\%)+(D3*30\%)+(E3*50\%)} \]
which is the same as =(C3*0.2)+(D3*0.3)+(E3*0.5). Press Enter, then drag the fill handle down to copy the formula for all six students.
(d)(ii) Total weighted score for the three terms
In the cell below the last weighted score (if the weighted scores are in F3:F8) type:
\[ \text{=SUM(F3:F8)} \]
and press Enter to obtain the total.
(e) Footer
Click Insert → Header & Footer, click in the footer area and type your full name and index number.
(f) Save
Click File → Save As, open the folder you created, type your index number as the file name and click Save.
(g) Print
Click File → Print, select the printer, print the work and submit the printout to the supervisor.
