Membership clan organisation that is characterised by secrecy of operations is associated with "cultism". Cultism refers to a social group or organization whose beliefs, practices, and rituals are often shrouded in secrecy, and whose membership is often exclusive and selective. Cults can range from harmless groups to dangerous organizations that engage in criminal activities, violence, and other illicit practices. Cultism often involves indoctrination, brainwashing, and the manipulation of members, which can make it difficult for individuals to leave the group. This can result in social and psychological harm to both members and non-members alike. Therefore, cultism is generally considered a negative phenomenon that is frowned upon by society.
