Answer Details
Deficiency in vitamin C can lead to scurvy. Scurvy is a condition that results from lack of vitamin C in the body. Its symptoms include weakness, fatigue, muscle pain, joint pain, swollen and bleeding gums, and skin rashes. Without proper treatment, scurvy can be life-threatening. Vitamin C is important for the growth and repair of tissues in the body, and it also acts as an antioxidant, protecting the body against damage from free radicals. It is found in fruits and vegetables, particularly citrus fruits, kiwi fruit, strawberries, tomatoes, and green leafy vegetables.
