Umoja is a celebrated traditional dance group and stage production from South Africa. The name "Umoja" means "unity" or "togetherness" in Swahili, and the group's performances showcase a wide range of traditional South African dance styles, music, and cultural heritage. The Umoja show has toured internationally and is known for its vibrant choreography that traces the history and diversity of South African dance traditions, from traditional Zulu, Xhosa, and Ndebele dances to contemporary township styles.
The production originated in Soweto, South Africa, and has become one of the country's most recognised cultural exports in the performing arts. It is firmly identified with South Africa, not Uganda, Ivory Coast, or Togo.
